Oak Ridge City Council member Jim Dodson is seeking election in 2022 to serve as a state representative in Anderson County.
Dodson is running to serve in the Tennessee House of Representatives in District 33, which includes most of Anderson County.
He is running as a Democrat. The seat is currently held by John Ragan, an Oak Ridge Republican who is in his sixth two-year term.
Dodson announced his candidacy on social media on Wednesday evening. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment about his campaign.
In his social media announcement, Dodson, a middle school art teacher and community volunteer, said he will have two campaign kickoff events. The first event will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, at Razzleberry’s restaurant in Oak Ridge. An Anderson County event is planned for November.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
