An Oak Ridge man and woman are facing drug and conspiracy charges after 45.1 grams of methamphetamine were allegedly found in a motel room on South Illinois Avenue in May, according to court records.
Charged in the case are William Michael Renfro, 18, and Carlie Alise Wisman, 22.
A black backpack with 45.1 grams of methamphetamine was found in a room at Days Inn on May 7, according to affidavits filed in Anderson County General Sessions Court by Oak Ridge Police Department Officer Adam Fairbanks.
Video from a surveillance camera showed Renfro entering the motel room with the black backpack, and another video showed him leaving the room without the backpack, Fairbanks wrote in the affidavits. Affidavits are narrative descriptions of alleged crimes that are attached to arrest warrants.
A motel manager identified Renfro as the man he spoke to outside that motel room, Fairbanks said.
Also found in the backpack were 9.5 grams of marijuana and a Ruger Security Six .357 revolver with six rounds, the affidavits said.
The motel room was rented in Wisman’s name, “showing the two subjects (Renfro and Wisman) worked together,” the affidavits said.
The motel room is within 1,000 feet of a school zone, the La Petite Academy Daycare, the affidavits said. Both defendants violated a drug-free school zone, the affidavits said.
Renfro has been charged with manufacturing, selling, delivering, or possessing a Schedule II controlled substance; manufacturing, selling, delivering, or possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance; criminal conspiracy; and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He was arrested June 12, and his bond was set at $150,000. An order for intensified/felony pre-trial supervision was entered for him in late June, and he was released August 21 after serving more than two months in the Anderson County Detention Facility in Clinton, according to court and jail records.
Renfro’s next court date is September 5 in Anderson County General Sessions Court in Oak Ridge.
Wisman has been charged with manufacturing, selling, delivering, or possessing a Schedule II controlled substance; criminal conspiracy; and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Wisman was arrested June 6 and released on a $125,000 bond early the next day.
Her next court date is September 5 in Anderson County General Sessions Court in Oak Ridge.
