Oak Ridge Mayor Warren Gooch will discuss the future of the outdoor pool on a local television show this evening.
The “Between The Lines” talk show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 29, on BBB-TV, Comcast Channel 12. It will be online at bbbtv12.com and broadcast in Campbell County on Comcast Channel 230.
The spring-fed pool was built during the Manhattan Project during World War II, and it is one of the largest in the United States.
But it has been leaking a significant amount of water, and the Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Advisory Board is studying the pool and considering its long-term viability.
The city’s outdoor pool is located on Providence Road across from the Oak Ridge High School.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
