Police investigating fatal hit-and-run involving pedestrian on Turnpike

The Oak Ridge Police Department is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on Oak Ridge Turnpike on Tuesday morning.

Police received a 911 call about the fatal hit-and-run at about 7 a.m. Tuesday. It was reported between Brussels Road and Bogola Road in east Oak Ridge.

The identity of the pedestrian won’t be released until family members are notified, the City of Oak Ridge said.

The city said no other information will be released at this time.

Anyone who has information to share about the deadly hit-and-run is asked to call ORPD at (865) 425-4399. Crime tips can also be submitted online at http://oakridgetn.gov/department/ORPD/Home. Information can be given anonymously.
