ASAP of Anderson is celebrating 10 years of prevention on Tuesday, September 4.
ASAP’s mission is to prevent and reduce substance misuse among youth and adults in Anderson County.
You can join them for a 10th Anniversary Celebration and logo reveal on from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at Anderson County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the logo reveal, there will be light lunch, cake, and takeaway “swag†for attendees, a press release said.
“ASAP is proud to have our volunteers serve over 11,000 hours toward prevention since 2008,” the press release said. “In 10 years, Anderson County has seen an overall reduction of 53.5 percent in youth prevalence of substance use, including 57.4 percent reduction in alcohol use, 54.3 percent reduction in tobacco use, 39.8 percent reduction in marijuana use, and 64.3 percent reduction in prescription medication use. This has been the work of numerous dedicated volunteers, partners, and the whole Anderson County community.”
ASAP has continued to grow and change over the past 10 years, the press release said.
“As part of that growth, we are excited to reveal our brand-new logo in celebration of our 10th anniversary,” the release said. “ASAP’s image is changing, but our mission stays the same. We continue to value compassion, knowledge, connectedness, progress, and proactivity in order to make strides toward preventing and reducing substance misuse in our community.”
