A woman has life-threatening injuries after reportedly being shot at a home on Walsh Lane on Friday night, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at about 11 p.m. Friday.

“It was reported that a female had been shot, and the male suspect was still at the scene,” the City of Oak Ridge said in a statement. “When officers arrived minutes later, they saw the suspect leaving the scene in a vehicle. Officers pursued the suspect and detained him a short distance away from the scene.”

The victim suffered multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds and was flown by LifeStar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Her condition is unknown, the city said.

The suspect was taken to Oak Ridge Police Department Headquarters for questioning. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.

“No additional information will be released at this time,” the City of Oak Ridge said.
