Three people have been arrested after a shooting was reported at a home on West Broad Street in Clinton on Wednesday, authorities said.
The three arrested on Friday included a male juvenile and Brent Ashley Hayden, 34, and Michael Steven Smith, 18, both of Clinton, the Clinton Police Department said in a press release Monday. The three were arrested by CPD detectives.
The shooting was reported on West Broad Street at about 4:16 p.m. Wednesday, July 26.
“It’s believed the three fired several shots in the direction of the residence,” the CPD said in the press release.
When they arrived, the CPD found three adults and two minor children in the house. None of the residents were injured, the CPD said.
But officers said bullet holes were found in the outside wall of the home, as well as in a vehicle parked nearby.
Friday’s arrests were made without incident within 48 hours of the shooting, the CPD said. The suspects are facing various charges, including several counts of reckless endangerment with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Hayden is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, the CPD said.
Both adults are being held on $20,000 bond at the Anderson County Detention Facility in Clinton, the CPD said. The juvenile is incarcerated at a Knox County facility.
Police continue to investigate, the CPD said.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
