Crews were working to restore power on the west end of Oak Ridge on Tuesday night, including in the area around Louisiana Avenue and Robertsville Road.
A fallen tree or trees knocked down power lines along Louisiana Avenue north of Robertsville Road, and crews were working to restore power on the north side of Oak Ridge Turnpike.
A large area on that side of the road was dark at about 10 p.m. Tuesday. By about 10:45 p.m., lights were back on at many homes and business.
But the area around Louisiana Avenue and Lasalle Road remained without power at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. There were at least four bucket trucks, the type used by electric crews, working in the area where the tree fell. Crews were removing a large tree just north of Lasalle Road.
It’s not clear what time the tree fell or what time the power outage began. It’s also not clear how many customers were affected.
The City of Oak Ridge posted on Twitter at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday that fallen trees had caused power outages in the area of Louisiana Avenue.
“Crews are working to restore service, but no time estimate right now,” the city said.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
