Reminder: The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce has a forum for candidates for Oak Ridge Board of Education on Thursday morning.

It’s the second of three candidate forums for the November 8 election.

The Board of Education candidate forum will start at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29, in the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce’s Joyce Conference Room. It’s free and open to the public.

There are three candidates for two seats on the school board: the incumbents, Angi Agle and Keys Fillauer, and challenger Myra Mansfield.

The third candidate forum sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce will be on Tuesday, October 18, for candidates for Oak Ridge City Council. The first one was September 20 for candidate for Anderson County Charter Commission.

Audience members may submit questions in writing at the forums. Questions must be addressed to all candidates. Chamber staff may combine questions of a similar focus or topic. Questions will not be shared with candidates in advance.

The moderator for the forums will be Gene Patterson of Consolidated Nuclear Security, a former news anchor.

For additional information on the forums, visit the Oak Ridge Chamber’s website at www.oakridgechamber.org and click on the Calendar link or contact Greta Ownby at [email protected] or (865) 483-1321.

Many thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for this opportunity. There were some good questions; I think it was taped and will be re-played on Ch. 12.

Sorry I missed this one. I had to go to west Knox County that morning.

I was hoping to record the League forum with City Council and School Board candidates on video, but I wasn’t able to get a memory card with enough memory before the forum.

I have talked to Brad Jones about possibly sharing the links to the BBB videos when they become available.
