A new Sears Hometown Store will open in Oak Ridge this fall, a press release said. The store will be located at 142 Fairbanks Road.

“We are delighted to have local business owner and resident Leslie Agron and his team serving customers in Oak Ridge and the surrounding communities,” said Mike Jones, Region Development Manager—Sears Hometown Stores. “We are especially excited to be a part of the Oak Ridge retail community and to be able to bring back the Sears name and products to this area. We also appreciate the partnership with R&R Properties and others in the community who have worked diligently to get this project going.”

Rick Chinn of R&R Properties said he is excited about the project.

“We worked very closely with Leslie and the corporate folks from Sears to find just the right location in this market that would fit the needs of the required store layout,” Chinn said in the press release.

The press release said the new Sears Hometown Store in Oak Ridge will be the only place in town where customers can find an incredible selection of the top appliance brands such as Kenmore, Maytag, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Samsung, Frigidaire, LG, and GE, plus a large assortment of lawn and garden equipment, Craftsman tools, fitness equipment, mattresses, and more through in-store computer kiosks. The store will be one of 18 Sears Hometown Stores in the state of Tennessee.

The Oak Ridge Hometown location will also offer Sears Nationwide Service, Parts, and Installation. In addition, customers will have access to all products that Sears offers, which can be ordered online and picked up in the store without a shipping charge, the press release said.

“The friendly team in Oak Ridge will also be able to assist customers with online orders for product not available in the store,” the release said. “The team in Oak Ridge is excited to provide customers with professional advice and low prices.”

“I’m excited about the opportunity to bring a recognized retail name to the consumers in Oak Ridge and our surrounding communities, along with great products and services,” Agron said. “I look forward to being able to offer our customers many recognized brands to choose from, along with a fun and friendly place to shop.”

More information will be added as it becomes available.
