A fire destroyed a home on Frost Bottom Road early Sunday morning.
The fire was reported at 2 p.m. Sunday at 352 Frost Bottom Road in Anderson County, photographer Tom Scott said.
According to a neighbor, a passerby first saw the fire and asked the neighbor to call the Anderson County 911 Center, Scott said.
He said the Marlow Fire Department was dispatched and responded with one engine and two tankers. Mutual aid was requested from the Oliver Springs Fire Department, which sent two engines.
The large one-story house was engulfed by fire when the first fire units arrived, but nobody was living in the house, Scott said.
He said water was hauled from a fire hydrant at the nearby intersection of Frost Bottom Road and Hoskins Gap Road. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department and the Anderson County Emergency Medical Services also responded.
The Incident Commander was Marlow Fire Chief A.J. Harris. Scott said the house and contents were totally destroyed, and firefighters were on the scene for three hours.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
