One person died in a single-vehicle crash on I-75 South in Anderson County on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The crash, which was investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, involved a Ford pickup truck, and it occurred at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.
WBIR-TV in Knoxville has reported that the driver was Scott Davis, 46, of Jacksboro, Tennessee.
Citing a crash report, the TV station said Davis’ pickup traveled off the roadway onto one side of I-75. Scott overcorrected and the truck flipped about seven times. Scott was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt, WBIR said.
The crash caused delays on the interstate as well as surface streets as many drivers used Highway 25W as an alternate. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said all lanes of traffic on I-75 were back open around 9:55 a.m. Tuesday.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department responded to assist the THP. So did Anderson County EMS, Andersonville Fire Department, and Anderson County Rescue Squad.
