The Tennessee Small Business Development Center will offer five free seminars in June.
The first is titled “Business Planning/Get ready to see a lender.”
It’s scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Roane County Chamber of Commerce in Kingston.
“This workshop covers the fundamentals of writing a business plan, and is designed for individuals who want to increase their chances for successful self-employment,” organizers said.
The second is titled “How to do business with the government.”
It’s scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 11, at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.
“Discussion includes the basics of being a successful contractor with the government,” organizers said.
The third is titled “Timekeeping and the government contractor.”
“It’s scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.
“This workshop will discuss how to ensure compliance with labor tracking, and wage and hour labor laws,” organizers said.
The fourth seminar is titled “Government Contracting—How to get on the GSA Schedule.”
It’s scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.
“Learn about GSA Schedules, and get tips on marketing to the federal government while on the Schedule,” organizers said.
The fifth seminar is titled “Introduction to Accounting for small businesses.”
It’s scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.
“Learn more about financial statements, do’s and don’ts, best practices, and resources available,” organizers said.
