Here are more closings announced for Tuesday, as well as a few that were announced previously. Some previous announcements have been revised, mostly changing from a late opening to a closing.

The City of Oak Ridge offices will be closed today, Tuesday, February 17, due to icy roads. The Oak Ridge City Council work session scheduled for tonight has also be canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Waste Connections will not be conducting trash pick up today and will be on a one-day delay.

The U.S. Department of Energy Oak Ridge Office (the Federal Building) and DOE’s Office of Scientific and Technical Information will be closed due to hazardous weather conditions. Employees with situational telework agreements in place are expected to telework.

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce and Oak Ridge Associated Universities will be closed.

The Y-12 National Security Complex will be closed to non-essential employees. The Anderson County Courthouse in Clinton is closed, and all court sessions have been canceled.

Local schools are also closed, including in Oak Ridge and Clinton, and Anderson and Roane counties. Roane State Community College is also closed.

The Anderson County Commission meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled and will be rescheduled later.

Wildcats broadcaster David Clary reported that the Lady Wildcats basketball game tonight has been canceled. He said the tentative new plan is to resume the girls’ district tournament on Thursday and the boys’ on Friday. The girls’ consolation game had originally been scheduled for Monday, February 16, at Central High School in Knoxville, and the boys’ championship game had been scheduled for tonight.

The girls’ game against Anderson County is expected to start at 6 p.m. Thursday at Central. The girls’ district championship game between Halls and Powell is expected to follow at 7:30 p.m.

The boys’ consolation game between Halls and Central is expected to start at 6 p.m. Friday, and the championship game between Karns and Oak Ridge will follow at 7:30 p.m.

The regional tournament dates have been pushed back as well.

Some Oak Ridge businesses have also announced that they will be closed today. Please call ahead for more specific information about closings.

Like some other offices, Clinton City Hall and the Community Center were scheduled to open at noon, conditions permitting, but they will instead remain closed. The Clinton City Court docket has been re-set for March 12.

Rocky Top City Hall, Kingston City Hall, and the Roane County Courthouse are all closed today, along with Anderson County Community Action. And Waste Connections is not picking up trash today.
