Anderson County Chamber of Commerce

The annual Business Luncheon by the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce will feature Ryan Howley, president of Techmer PM, the company that President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden visited in January.

The Business Luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 20, at The Hollingsworth Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (Junior Achievement BizTown). The center is located at 2135 North Charles Seivers Boulevard in Clinton.

Obama toured part of the Techmer PM facility in Clinton before making a major announcement about the creation of a $250 million manufacturing innovation hub aimed at strengthening U.S. leadership in next-generation composite materials.

Howley’s key responsibilities at Techmer PM include sales and marketing leadership as well as global partnership management, a press release said. He also has oversight of all strategic planning activities as well as corporate culture initiatives, including the sustainability program.

Howley received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. His career spans more than 20 years within the plastics industry and includes a dedicated focus on master batch, the release said.

Prior to his current role, Howley held the title of vice president of marketing. In addition, he managed the Techmer PM office in Stuttgart, Germany, from 2004-2007 and opened the company’s São Paulo, Brazil, office in 2009.

The press release said Techmer PM LLC is a major producer of value-added masterbatch and engineered compounds for the plastics and fiber industries. The company manufactures and sells masterbatch under its Techmer PM brand and engineered thermoplastic compounds through its Techmer ES subsidiary. The company has worldwide manufacturing capabilities focusing on high-performance applications where quality, technical support, and problem solving are critical. Techmer PM was recognized by Plastics News on its “Best Places to Work 2014” list.

During the Business Luncheon, Chamber Board Chairman Stephen Harris will share the 2014 successes and 2015 Chamber goals and objectives.

To reserve your tickets, contact the Chamber by phone at (865) 457-2559, by email at [email protected], or visit www.andersoncountychamber.org to pay online. Tickets are $30 for Chamber members and $35 for guests. A cancellation notice is required 24 hours prior to event.

The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to encourage economic development, government, and community initiatives that result in prosperity for members and citizens of Anderson County.
