We hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays, and we also want to wish you a Happy New Year! We also want to share some good news: Thanks to your support, Oak Ridge Today continues to grow.
We checked our Google Analytics website statistics for 2014, and here’s what they show:
- Oak Ridge Today had 435,187 users in 2014;
- 927,739 sessions; and
- 1.75 million page views.
That compared to 309,902 users in 2013; 700,915 sessions; and 1.33 million page views. That was our first full year of operations.
What that means is that we’ve had a 40.4 percent increase in the number of users, a 32.4 percent increase in the number of sessions, and a 31.6 percent increase in the number of page views.
We want to thank you all for your support and for reading Oak Ridge Today, and we look forward to continuing to work with you in 2015.

I would never have guessed that the online component has only been around for 2 years. Wowsers. You all do such a great job. Now if I could just find an equivalent thing for here in California, our new home. Have read some of the local patch sites, but no where as good as Oak Ridge Today.

Thank you, Cindy.
We started March 29, 2012. I installed Google Analytics on May 6, 2012, if I recall correctly, so we only have stats for a partial year that year.
I know a few independent online news publishers in California, but I don’t know if there is one in your area. Can I ask what city you’re in?
Cindy McCullough says
San Jose, is where we wound up.
johnhuotari says
Okay. Thank you. I don’t know any publishers in that area.
You can see a list of local independent online publishers here: http://www.lionpublishers.com/members/list/. I don’t know if there are other organizations like this with other members doing anything similar to what we’re doing on Oak Ridge Today, but this is the group that I work with most frequently.
Maybe we’ll end up with a member in San Jose. 🙂
