Rich Brown will remain procurement manager for the Uranium Processing Facility at the Y-12 National Security Complex, UPF Project Director Brian Reilly said last week.
Here is an announcement that Reilly sent to the UPF team on Tuesday, October 7:
“On September 19, I announced that Rich Brown was leaving the project for an assignment in the United Kingdom, and that we were fortunate to have Mark Swager joining us to assume Rich’s duties. Since my announcement, however, some of the drivers (including a project mobilization delay) for Rich’s UK assignment changed, providing the opportunity for Rich to remain here. Rich will retain his role as the UPF Procurement manager and continue reporting to Mike Pratt.
“With Rich’s return, Mark Swager is going to be moving to another project within the DOE (U.S. Department of Energy) complex as the procurement manager. Mark will, however, be available to the UPF project to assist us over the next few months in analyzing and adapting processes and procedures to more effectively execute our approach for design, engineering, and construction. We are fortunate to have someone with Mark’s background and experience to assist us with these critical improvement opportunities. I appreciate Mark’s understanding and professionalism during this change in direction, and look forward the tandem of Rich and Mark working together over the next few months to help drive UPForward.”
