Letter: Biloski committed to community, can make constructive changes

To the Editor:

In the upcoming May election, I will be voting for Lauren Biloski, Republican candidate for juvenile judge.

This seat, which is being vacated by our present juvenile judge, is vitally important to several quality-of-life issues for so many families in Anderson County. We need to make sure we elect the best person to fill this position. I have known Lauren and her family for many years in Oak Ridge. Lauren graduated from Oak Ridge Schools, came back to our community to practice family law, and has extensive experience in assisting families with a variety of difficult issues.

Her ability to focus on individual issues central to bringing families together will allow her to bring positive outcomes for our county from the bench. Her dedications to her pursuits are evident; her education, volunteerism, and generosity of pro-bono needs to those in need, and energies directed to sound animal welfare practices in our region, exemplify her positive commitment to our community.

I have worked with Lauren in the Oak Ridge community on numerous issues relating to humane treatment of our many discarded dogs and cats within our region. She has an ability to work with a variety of people to make constructive changes at our own Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. Those characteristics will carry though in dealing with the hundreds of people, all having a different reason in coming through the court.

Lauren’s friendly smile and continual optimism for life’s encounters will provide the necessary balanced approach for a juvenile judge.

She will make us proud of our vote!

I will be supporting Brian Hunt because he is a very honest person. He will do a good job compared to Biloski. who just wants a better paying job IMHO.
