Teen charged with aggravated robbery for alleged November holdup

An Oak Ridge teenager has been charged with aggravated robbery for his alleged role in a November stickup on Jonathan Lane.

Treston Blake Lee, 19, of Wakefield Road, was arrested Jan. 26, and he remained jailed in the Anderson County Detention Facility in Clinton on Thursday afternoon. His bond has been set at $100,000.

An arrest warrant filed in Anderson County General Sessions Court said the alleged robbery occurred at about 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and involved another defendant. Lee had met the victim several times and was allowed to enter the home, Oak Ridge Police Department Detective Bill Weaver said in the warrant.

The second defendant, who is not identified in the warrant, also walked into the home that night and displayed a small-caliber silver handgun, Weaver said.

“The defendant and another defendant used fear to control the victims by displaying the small-caliber handgun and cocking it,” Weaver said.

He said the second defendant told the victims not to move while Lee allegedly put the victim’s wallet, which had $600 in cash and a debit card and driver’s license, along with $50 grabbed off a shelf by the kitchen, into a small black bag before the two ran out of the house.

Weaver said the robbery investigation included victim statements, independent eyewitness statements, and photo line-ups. He said Lee was positively identified by both victims in a Dec. 11 photo line-up, and a witness who had been across the street on Jonathan Lane at the time of the alleged robbery identified both defendants in a photo line-up.

The witness observed the defendants park their car and leave it running while they walked to the Jonathan Lane home, and they ran back out of the house a few minutes later carrying a small black bag before driving away, Weaver said.

“The defendants were so close running up the street that one of them came into physical contact with the witness as they ran by,” Weaver said. He said the witness descriptions and actions of the defendants matched the victims’ statements.

It’s not clear if the second defendant has been arrested or charged.
