Ellen Ruth Jeffers

Ellen Ruth Jeffers, age 77, of Clinton, passed away early Thursday morning Jan. 2, 2014, at her home in Clinton.

Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed flower gardening and getting together with family and friends. Ellen was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Caroline Phillips; husband, James Claude Jeffers; son, James Larry Jeffers; daughters, Katie Sue Jeffers and Joanne Clark; brothers, Joe, Henry, Isaac, Kelly, and Jim Aslinger and sisters, Peggy Wilson and Cora Cooper; grandson, Gregory Reynolds; and great-grandson, Austin Robbins.

Ellen is survived by sons, Danny Jeffers and Tammy of Clinton, Jimmy Jeffers and Jackie of Blaine, Tenn., and James Edward Jeffers of Clinton; daughters, Pat Pryse of Clinton, Mary Reynolds and Roger of Clinton, and Linda Jeffers of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ellen’s family received her friends on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 6–8 p.m. with her funeral service immediately following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Donnie Disney and Rev. Todd Reynolds officiating. Her interment was Sunday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m. in Sexton Cemetery in the Paint Rock community.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jones Mortuary at 375 N. Main St. Clinton, TN 37716.
