Holidays: Create an AMSE flattop memory, buy a board on the boardwalk

Create a memory and recognize an individual, family, grandparent, or business when purchasing a “Board on the Boardwalk” leading to the 1940s flattop house at the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge.

With your support of the “Buy A Board on the Boardwalk” campaign, you can help maintain and preserve the flattop for future generations as AMSE and the AMSE Foundation continue to oversee the flattop maintenance, boardwalk entrance, and interior of the 1940s home.

Buy a board for $250 and prepare a personal name or message of up to 48 characters to be inscribed on a 4″x6″ bronze plaque, which will be secured to the board on the boardwalk that leads to the entrance of the AMSE flattop.

Only a limited number of boards on the boardwalk remain for the joy of giving this holiday season or gift giving to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. There have been 41 boards with commemorative bronze plaques already installed.

The American Museum of Science and Energy is at 300 S. Tulane Ave. in Oak Ridge, and it is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. AMSE is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

AMSE admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+), $3 for students (6 – 17), and free for children 5 and under. There is no admission for AMSE members.
