Obituary: Gwen Ann Hacker

Gwen Ann Hacker, age 50, a resident of Harriman, and formerly of Oliver Springs and Kingston, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at her home.

Gwen was born July 4, 1963, in Madisonville, Ky. She has lived in Tennessee since 1976.

Before her disability, she was employed as a electrician at Clark Electrical. She was also previously employed from local labor union # 818, in Knoxville.

She was a artist who especially enjoyed oil painting and sketching.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Macklin and Alice Gwendolyn Grizzle Macklin, and by a nephew, Paul Peacock.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Hacker Jr. of Harriman; by a daughter, Megan Hacker of Rockford, Ill.; by sons, Joshua Hacker of Gainesville, Ga., and Brandon Hacker and fiancée Kathleen Wilkerson of Kingston; and by grandchildren, Alexis Hacker, Glory Wright, and Ethan Hacker.

She is also survived by sisters, Deborah Peacock, and Mary Alice Smith and husband Joel, of Titusville, Fla.; by brothers, Charles Macklin Jr. and wife Lydia, of Gainesville, Ga., Neil Mackley and wife Leota of Titusville, Fla., and Mark Macklin and wife Lois, of Vonore, Tenn.; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 27, between 1 and 2 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with pastor Barry Ariaz officiating.
