Kyle Edward Miller, age 88, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1925, in Knoxville, the son of Arthur Bryan Miller Sr. and Virginia Louise Warwick Miller.

Mr. Miller served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Elm Grove Market, where he was a meat cutter. He was a member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mr. Miller enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the UT VOLS and the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Ruth Miller in 1995; daughter, Kathy Miller Sims in 1995; brothers, Raymond Miller, Arthur B. “Toe” Miller Jr., and James Miller; and sister, Catherine Miller Percival.

He is survived by sons, Mack Miller and wife Shirley of Muldrow, Okla., and John Miller and wife Pamela of Clinton; daughter, Mary Mills and husband Bill of Oak Ridge; brother, John Miller and wife Alice of Clinton; grandchildren, Lisa Mitchell of Oak Ridge; Mack Miller and Gary Miller; Michelle Viles Lee and husband Sonny of Rossville, Ga.; David Viles of Chattanooga; Phillip Viles and wife Andrea of Ooltewah; Robby Brooks and wife Dina of Oak Ridge; Daniel Brooks and wife Leigh of Leesburg, Va.; Evan Brooks and wife Liza of Oak Ridge; John Mills, Bryan Mills, and Samantha Miller McFee and husband Daniel, all of Oak Ridge, and Alex Miller of Clinton; 11 great-grandchildren, with another to arrive in March; and one great-great grandchild.

The family received friends on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 12–2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral began at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Ray Miller officiating. The burial followed at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Amedysis Hospice for the care and compassion given to their father. Memorial contributions can be made to Kern Memorial United Methodist Church. An online guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
