Sybil Copeland O’Kain

Sybil Copeland O’Kain, age 76, of Powell, went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013.

Sybil, fondly known as Mimmy, was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Her loving husband of 58 years, Jim, was always by her side during her many health struggles.

Mimmy’s life was devoted to being a Godly role model and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Presley and Annie Mae Copeland Presley; brother, Darrell Copeland; and son, Paul O’Kain.

She is survived by her husband, Jim O’Kain; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Joy O’Kain; daughter and son-in-law, Roni and Larry Stubbs; grandchildren, Cari and Jamie Fielden, Lori and Jason Chandler, Andi and Steven Harper, Jake and Laken Stubbs, Darrell and Ginny O’Kain, Luke and Jessica Stubbs, Caleb and Savannah Stubbs, and Robin, Katie, and Rachel O’Kain; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Max Brewer; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 30, from 5–7 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. John Sexton, Rev. Steven Copeland, and Rev. Toby Geren officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Memorial Gardens for a graveside service.
