In recognition of its 50th season, the Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association is celebrating Tchaikovsky, opening its season this weekend with the annual production of “The Nutcracker.”

The season will end in April with “Sleeping Beauty” and “Swan Lake.”

The University of Tennessee Chamber Orchestra will perform The Nutcracker this weekend with ORCBA.

“Don’t miss this unique opportunity to enjoy ballet performed with a live orchestra,” the association said.

“The Nutcracker” will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 Sunday at the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. A gala celebration at 5 p.m. is included with the Saturday admission.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students.

There is also an abbreviated encore version of the show at 11 a.m. Saturday that does not include the live orchestra or the professional guest artists. Tickets for that show are $8.

See the ORCBA website for more information on a Penny 4 the Arts Program and an offer to bring five non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank. and receive $10 off a second ticket.
