Darlas Mae Daugherty, age 65, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at her home.
Darlas was born Jan. 23, 1948, in the Upper Camp of Windrock Mountain. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
She was a member of the Union Valley Baptist Church, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Before her retirement, she was employed as a cook at the Norwood School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramsey and Pauline Melton Lively; by a son-in-law, Doug Miller; by brothers, James and Ricky Lively; and by a great-granddaughter, Bristol Lynn Bailey.
Darlas is survived by her husband, Roger Leon Daugherty; by six daughters, Dee Dee Kemp and Doug Jenkins of Oliver Springs, Tammy Miller of Oliver Springs, Sonya Isabell and husband James of Oliver Springs, Erin Jones and husband Steven of Mossy Grove, Mary Carter and husband Billy of Claxton, and Sandy Seiber and husband, Scott of Oliver Springs; by grandchildren, Kristen McClure, Laken McKinney, Brittany Garry, Britney Gilmore, Jessica McClure, Erica Jones, Steven Jones, Kimberley Hill, Amber Stroup, Billy Carter Jr., Haley Seiber and Jensen Seiber; and by great-grandchildren, Jaxson McKinney, Zander McKinney, Treagen Hill, Brianna Bailey, and Carleigh Stroup.
She is also survived by sisters, Ola Halburnt and husband Clyde, of Oliver Springs, Sandra Burney and husband Stanley, of Harriman and Rose Carolyn Braden of Oliver Springs; by brothers, Robert Lively and wife Kay, of Oliver Springs, and Douglas Lively and wife Rita, of Coalfield; by a sister-in-law, Kathy Lively of Claxton; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.
The family received friends Sunday, Nov. 3, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Morgan officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Union Valley Cemetery.
