The director of Crossroads Ministry will discuss how the agency helps young, at-risk single mothers from Anderson and surrounding counties during a Friday morning presentation.
Cora Rhew, founder and executive director of Crossroads Ministry, will explain how her agency helps the mothers face the challenges of mothering while learning to set goals, make good decisions, and develop job skills, a press release said. Rhew will share news about the progress of transitional housing for at-risk single mothers, the release said. She will also talk about the court-ordered training that her agency provides to single parents, both men and women, in the greater Anderson County area.
Rhew’s presentation will be at the Friday meeting of Church Women United in the Family Life Center at Kern Memorial United Methodist Church at 451 E. Tennessee Ave. in Oak Ridge. Fellowship begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a short meeting, and the speaker’s presentation at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend, the release said. Attendees may bring baby diapers of any size as an offering to Crossroads.
Church Women United brings together women of diverse races, cultures, and traditions in closer Christian fellowship, prayer, advocacy, and action for peace with justice in the world, the release said. For more information, call Gay Marie Logsdon at (865) 483-7940.
