Tester Duncan, better known as “Tes,†age 86, of Briceville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Golden Living Center – Windwood in Clinton.
Tes was a loving father and enjoyed family time. He was a hard worker and spent many years in Ohio, where he retired from General Motors, then returned to Tennessee to work as a mine guard in the mines and proceeded to work for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department.
Tes was a member of Fratersville Baptist Church, Masons Alpha Lodge # 376 Clinton, Shriners, and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a veteran and served in World War II.
Tes was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Lillie Duncan; son, Gerald Duncan; brothers, Lewis Duncan, Calvin Duncan, and Ernest Duncan; and sisters, Ada Duncan, Mary Duncan, Dorothy Duncan, Annette Duncan, and Oma Hatmaker.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Duncan of Briceville; son, Terry Duncan of Lexington, Ky.; daughters, Wanda Duncan of Briceville, Theresa Duncan of Knoxville, and Jeanett Duncan of Lake City. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Tester’s family received his friends on Monday, Sept. 9, from 6–8 p.m. His Masonic service followed at 8 p.m., and his funeral service followed in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with the Rev. Jay Braden officiating.
Tester’s interment was Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. at Ridgeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake City, with full military honors.
Jones Mortuary in Clinton was in charge of all arrangements.
