Darrin Lawrence has joined Information International Associates Inc., or IIa, as senior vice president for strategic initiatives.

In a recent announcement, Bonnie C. Carroll, IIa owner and chief executive officer, said Lawrence has more than 25 years of experience in environmental, radiological, and emergency program management for commercial companies and government agencies. In addition, he has managed large profit and loss centers for commercial companies, and supervised more than 200 personnel, 150 open contracts, and revenues in excess of $50 million per year, a press release said.

Most recently, Lawrence managed $50 million in efforts associated with the Deep Water Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico, which included the management of more than 2,000 terabytes of environmental data and approximately 120,000 samples in support of the Natural Resource Damage Assessment being conducted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“Darrin will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of strategic growth initiatives for IIa,” Carroll said. “His record of contract and revenue growth fits well with our plans for the coming years. With this year being IIa’s 25th anniversary, adding Darrin to our management team represents a solid investment in the future.”

Lawrence is an Air Force Veteran, and he and his wife Tracy are residents of Oak Ridge and are very active in the community. Lawrence is a corporate board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Clinch Valley, and his wife volunteers with The Friends of Literacy Network.

IIa is a woman-owned small business headquartered in Oak Ridge, and it “provides solutions in information technology, knowledge management, and data strategies to support information and mission requirements for customers in the federal government and commercial markets.”
