Secret City Sounds continues their Summer Concert Series with Soul Candy and The Traffic Jam on Friday, Aug. 9. This concert replaces Dishwater Blonde, who had to cancel do to unforeseen circumstances. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Civic Center Pavilion located at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

“What do you get when you mix one smokin’ hot horn section, a hard-drivin’ funky rhythm section, and three talented and energetic female singers with musical theater experience?” a press release said. “You get Knoxville’s own Soul Candy and The Traffic Jam!”

Formed in 2010, The Traffic Jam has 12 musicians, many of which came to the band from other successful entertainment groups, including Wayne Cochran and The CC Riders, The Atomic Horns, The Homewreckers, KnoxVegas, and major hit musical theatrical productions, the press release said.

“A true show band, Soul Candy and The Traffic Jam not only performs, they entertain!” it said.

All Secret City Sounds concerts are presented by the Arts Council of Oak Ridge and sponsored by the City of Oak Ridge and are free of charge. Organizers recommend bringing a blanket or a chair and setting up on the lawn behind the pavilion at Bissell Park for a great night of music. Food, ice cream, and beverages will be available.
