The Arts Council of Oak Ridge and its member organizations are having a premier Tribute to the Arts on Thursday.

It’s scheduled from 6-9 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Oak Ridge.

“This exciting cultural event will recognize artists and arts supporters from our area for the outstanding contributions they have made through their hearts and talents,” a press release said. “The Arts Council member organizations have long contributed to the culture and vitality of our region, and ACOR believes there is a need to acknowledge these groups and individuals for their service and talents.”

The tribute includes a meal and a “smorgasbord of short performances or exhibits” from the following arts organizations:

  • Oak Ridge Art Center,
  • Music Arts of Oak Ridge,
  • Tennessee Mountain Writers,
  • Oak Ridge Civic Music Association,
  • Oak Ridge Community Band/Wind Ensemble,
  • Oak Ridge Playhouse,
  • Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association, and
  • Oak Ridge Community Orchestra.

Tickets for the event are $75 each, and the proceeds benefit the Arts Council of Oak Ridge, the press release said.

“Please show your support of the arts, which add so much to the quality of life in our community,” it said. “If you are interested in attending this truly unique and wonderful celebration, contact the Arts Council at (865) 482-4432, or email us at orarts@comcast.net.”
