New principals will start this summer at Robertsville Middle School and the Oak Ridge Schools Preschool, officials announced Friday.

The new RMS principal is James Hundertmark, Oak Ridge school officials said in a press release. Hundertmark is now lead associate principal of Klein High School in Klein, Texas.

The new preschool principal is Melinda White. She has been interim principal at Oak Ridge Schools Preschool since May 2012.

They both start July 1.

The press release said Hundertmark has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Lincoln Memorial University. He also has a master’s degree in teaching from the University of Florida. He began his teaching career as a secondary mathematics teacher for Anderson County Schools and subsequently taught mathematics in Spring, Texas.

He transitioned from the classroom to administration 11 years ago, serving first as a middle school administrator, followed by a central office curriculum appointment. He has lead associate principal at Klein High School for the past four years. Klein High School is a high-performing school with more than 3,500 students, the press release said.

White received her bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Tennessee Technological University. She earned her master’s degree in early childhood special education from the University of Tennessee. White then went on to earn her education specialist degree/principal certification from UT, the press release said.

It said White began her career as a music therapist working in Texas, North Carolina, and Tennessee. In 2001, she was hired as a preschool teacher in Oak Ridge Schools and served in that capacity until 2009, when she became an instructional facilitator for the program.

“We are pleased to have both administrators on the Oak Ridge Schools team and look forward to the contributions each of them will make for our students and staff,” Interim Superintendent Bob Smallridge said.
