The Roane County Chamber of Commerce is having its Fifth Annual High Schools Career Day on Friday.
Roughly 475 high school juniors and about 50 businesses are expected to participate in the career day, scheduled to be held in the Roane State Community College gymnasium. Every 11th grade student in the five Roane County high schools will attend, organizers said.
Five $250 scholarships will be available, a press release said.
“Our business leaders know that it is critical for our students, their future employees, to focus on gaining the education and skills necessary for them to be employable and competitive in the global economy,†said Allen Lutz, the Roane Alliance’s education and workforce development specialist. “There is no escaping it, for Roane County, Tennessee, the United States, and other countries, economic growth is linked with educational attainment.”
