Three men pushed their way into the home of a 78-year-old man on Ulysses Lane on Wednesday night and allegedly stole a 12-gauge shotgun, a wallet, and three watches, authorities said.
The Oak Ridge Police Department said the home invasion happened at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday. The victim answered a knock at the door, and three men wearing dark clothes, blue jeans, and masks allegedly pushed their way into the home, demanding jewelry, pills, and guns, according to a report by ORPD Officer Michael E. Swigert.
The report said the men fled before police arrived. The resident was not hurt, and he called 911 as soon as the men left.
The shotgun was valued at $200, the wallet at $50, and the three Bulova watches at $300 total, the report said.
ORPD Lt. Robin Smith said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning this incident should contact ORPD Detective Bill Weaver at (865) 425-3502 or send a text to (865) 755-ORPD.
