Monus Brewer Sr., age 76, of Andersonville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Monus worked for and retired from General Motors Norwood Plant in Kentucky. He was an avid basketball fan, devoted father, and grandfather.
Monus was preceded in death by his parents, Pleas and Viola Brewer; wife of 10 years, Geraldine Brewer, and wife of 40 years, Martha Sue Brewer; brother, Edward Brewer; sister, Christine Mills; and brother-in-law, Tom Mills.
He is survived by his son, Monus Brewer and wife Lucy of Clinton; daughter, Missy Gilbert and husband James of Corbin, Ky.; brother, Pleas Leland Brewer and wife Jessie of Chicago, Ill.; and grandchildren, Joshua Brewer, Hannah Brewer, Jessica Gilbert, and Donavin Gilbert.
Monus’s family will receive his friends on Monday, March 4, from 12–1 p.m. at Candle Ridge Church in Gray, Ky. His interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the church cemetery with Pastor Dylan Martin officiating.
Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
