Wanda Faye Shadoan, age 75, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, at Fort Sanders Specialty Select Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mrs. Shadoan was born May 17, 1937, in Scott County. She lived in California and Ohio before moving back to Tennessee in 1982.
Wanda Faye was a loving mother and grandmother, and she worshipped at the Old Time Missionary Baptist Church in Goshen, Ohio. She was employed as a greeter at Walmart for 10 years before her retirement. Her hobbies included outdoor activities around the lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Shadoan; by sons, Vance Lee Shadoan and Perry G. Byrd; by her parents, Jasper Lawson and Maudie Coker Lawson; by a sister, Janamae Byrd; and by four brothers, Junior Lawson, Archie Lawson, Porter Lawson, and Verldon “Burl†Lawson.
Mrs. Shadoan is survived by sons, Warren C. Shadoan and wife Mary T. Varble, and Shaun Shadoan and wife Christy, all of Oliver Springs; and by grandchildren, Stephanie Dean, Cheri Shadoan, Lil Warren Shadoan, George Jackson Shadoan, Austin Shadoan, Emilee Shadoan, Jamon Adkins, Lexie and Brooklyn York, and by a special grandson, Chad Lee Shadoan.
She is also survived by two sisters, Linda Lou Hill and husband T.H. of Goshen, Ohio, and Geraldine Hall and husband Norman of Mt. Healthy, Ohio; and by a host of nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Terry Massengale, Susie Hatmaker, Lavonne Strunk, Pam King, and Cathy Long.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 31, between 12 and 2 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carley Duncan and Dudley Harness officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at the Western Cemetery in Coalfield.
