The Anderson County Democratic Party will honor and thank volunteers who worked in the campaigns of all Democratic candidates in 2012 elections with a free dinner and party at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the Clinton Community Center.

Volunteers throughout the county worked in campaigns ranging from President Obama’s re-election campaign to the campaigns of state and local candidates in 2012.

Vernon’s Burnins will serve its award-winning slow-cooked barbecue at the gathering. Vernon Long, a Democrat who served as the longtime Anderson County Property Assessor before his retirement last year, is the proprietor of Vernon’s Burnins.

The celebration is free to all volunteers, but the Democratic Party asks that you make a reservation to provide a head count for meals. Please make reservations with Gail Martin at gmartin@acs.ac.

The Clinton Community Center is at 101 S. Hicks St.
