An Oak Ridge woman charged with two counts of aggravated assault is accused of hitting a man in the head, pulling a knife on him, and then trying to run over him early Thursday morning, court records said.
Karol Ann Allred, 40, allegedly hit the man in the left side of the head during an argument on Lancaster Road at about 3:10 a.m. Thursday, according to affidavits filed in Anderson County General Sessions Court. Allred also allegedly pulled a knife on the man and got into her vehicle and tried to run over him as he left the home, the records said.
“A knife was found was found in the driver side floorboard of the vehicle, lying in plain view,” Oak Ridge Police Department Officer Daniel Freytag said in the affidavits. “Tire tracks in the yard showed that the vehicle had made rapid maneuvers in the yard where the incident had been reported to have occurred.”
A witness told police that he had observed Allred leave the home with a knife in her hand and use it to threaten the victim, and he had watched Allred try to hit the victim with the vehicle, Freytag said.
Allred remained jailed Friday night. Her bond has been set at $50,000, and a court hearing has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
