Eileen Marie Mignogna, age 71, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Mignogna was born July 23, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She has lived in Oliver Springs for the past 20 years, moving to Tennessee in 1993.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Eileen attended the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Howell and Rita Cobb Howell, and by a sister, Delores Wagoner.
She is survived by her husband, Ferdinand Mignogna of Oliver Springs; by sons, Charles Mignogna and wife Lisa; and Michael Mignogna and Brian Mignogna; by daughters, Mary Hinkle and husband Ron, and Britany Mignogna; by grandchildren, Vanessa and Joshua Hinkle, Jason, Joey and Shae Whitefield, and Jayme Price; and by 10 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by sisters, Barbara Hurst and husband DeWitt, and Deborah Sylvia and husband Lonnie; by a brother, Robert Mignogna and wife Cathy; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends, including lifelong friends, James and Linda Borut.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 10, and Friday, Jan. 11, between 5 and 7 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. A funeral Liturgy will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, following the visitation, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home, with Father Dustin Collins officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
