Edna Mable Mounce, age 80, of Clinton, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, at Methodist Medical Center.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Edna enjoyed collecting angels and dolls, and going to yard sales to find bargains. She enjoyed singing in church and was a member of Shultz Hollow Baptist Church in Lake City.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Jessie Mae Nolan; husband, Frank Mounce; brother, Clyde Mounce; and sister, Christine Bridges.
She is survived by sons, Lonnie Mounce and wife Janett of Oak Ridge, Chester Mounce of Clinton, Billy Mounce and wife Janis of Clinton; daughters, Irene Miller and husband Fred of Jacksboro, Etha Pickard of Andersonville, Patricia Scarbrough and husband John of Dallas, N.C., Mary Currier and husband Johnny of Clinton, Linda Burnworth and husband Randy of Lafollette; brothers, Edwin Nolan and Avery Nolan of Clinton; sisters, Betty Horn of Indiana, Frankie Bonjor of Clinton, and Martha Hart and husband Russell of Clinton.
Edna also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, soon to be born; best friend, Mary Ruth Phillips of Cleveland; and dear friends of the family, Curtis and Mary Nolan, and Pete and Darlene Lowe.
The family would like to thank Westside Baptist Church for their support during their time of their loss.
Edna’s family received friends on Sunday, Jan. 6, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. Her funeral service was Monday, Jan. 7 in the chapel with her interment following at the Beech Grove Cemetery in Lake City with Rev. Curtis Nolan and Rev. Pete Lowe officiating.
Jones Mortuary in Clinton was in charge of all arrangements.
