Jo Anne Perrell Giles, age 80, passed away peacefully at NHC Health Care Center in Oak Ridge on Jan. 3. She is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, along with family and friends who have gone before her.
She was born Sept. 9, 1932, to Joseph and Isabell Haynes Perrell. Mrs. Giles has been a resident of Oak Ridge for 45 years and worked as a volunteer for many years as a Pink Lady. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Giles was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Gayle Giles.
She is survived by daughter, Brenda Johnson and husband Wallace; sons, Tom Giles and wife Kathy, Mike Giles and wife Janet, and Greg Giles; grandchildren, Meredith Brown, Erin Brooke, Laura Skibinski, and T. J. Giles; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Cooper Brooke, and Mikalea and Amelia Skibinski; sisters, Mozelle Leonard, Mabel Hughes, and Sue Beck; brothers, Joel Perrell, Ed Perrell, and Woody Perrell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to NHC Health Care in Oak Ridge and Caris Health Care for their wonderful care of our loved one.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 6, from 6–8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.
The funeral is Monday at 10 a.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family asks that any memorials be made to the Salvation Army.
