Sherri Faye Strickland, age 49, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Oct. 16, at her home while surrounded by her family.
Sherri was born March 12, 1963, in Harriman. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
She was a faithful Christian and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Harriman.
Before her disability, she was employed as an account manager for G.C.A. Services at Roane State Community College.
Sherri was preceded in death by her father, James Ansley “Jim” Owens; by a brother, Jimmy Rodney Owens; by her maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Josie Faye Hall; and by her paternal grandparents, Willard Owens and Lora Owens Scarbrough.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Strickland; by her mother, Pauline Owens; by a son, Travis Ansley Rich; and by stepchildren, Daniel Strickland and wife Kendra, Matt Strickland, and Tracy Smith, all of Oliver Springs; by grandchildren, Breanna and Ansleigh Rich, Leah, Mason, Ella and Addie Strickland, and Jaylin, Hope, and Teddy Jo Smith.
She is also survived by three sisters, Sheila Rimel of Clinton, Sandra Housley and husband Freeman of Winchester, Tenn., and Jennifer Lane and husband, Connie of Oliver Springs; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.
The family received friends Friday, Oct. 19, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Will Gouge officiating.
Burial and graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Harriman.
