Virginia Elizabeth Michaels Williams

Virginia Elizabeth Michaels Williams, 93, of Oak Ridge, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, at the home of her daughter, Michelle Mickey Stockton.

She was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Clearfield, Pa., and was the daughter of George and Virgie Cutler, who are both deceased. Mrs. Williams grew up in Clearfield County, married Lloyd A. Michaels and later moved to Oak Ridge.

While living in Oak Ridge, she was employed by Nettie Lee’s Fashion Shoppe. Mrs. Williams enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, traveling, and caring for flowers. She attended Robertsville Baptist Church and Royce Baptist Church.

After the death of her first husband, L. A. Michaels in December 1972, Mrs. Williams continued to live in Oak Ridge and later married Benjamin S. Williams of Clearfield, Pa. Upon the death of her second husband, she returned to Oak Ridge to be near her daughters.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra Michaels Potts and husband John Boyden Potts of Athens, Ga., Carole Michaels of Kingston, and Michelle “Mickey” Michaels Stockton of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 6–8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Brian Scott officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

The family asks that any memorials be made to CASA of the Tennessee Heartland, 12 Van Hicks Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
