Knoxville’s Soul Candy and the Traffic Jam will play a free concert Friday evening at A.K. Bissell Park.
The band, which has horn and rhythm sections and three female singers, was scheduled to be the last in this year’s Secret City Sounds series, but last week’s concert was rescheduled due to rain.
The Traffic Jam consists of 12 musicians, including some who have played in other successful groups such as Wayne Cochran and The CC Riders, The Atomic Horns, and KnoxVegas.
Soul Candy and the Traffic Jam will start playing at the pavilion in A.K. Bissell Park at 7 p.m. Friday.
Band influences include Adele, Bruno Mars, Aretha Franklin, and Pat Benatar, among others.
If there is a question about the weather, call the Arts Council Office at (865) 482-4432, or go to their website at www.artscouncilofoakridge.org.
As with the other concerts, food, drinks, and ice cream will be available for sale, a press release said.
The Natti Love Joys, who were scheduled to play last week, will perform on Friday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.
