Thomas Edward McCauley, age 83, of Harriman passed away Monday, July 16, at Roane Medical Center.
He was born July 14, 1929, in Blacksburg, Va., the son of W.K. and Nellie Grissom McCauley.
Mr. McCauley was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served with the United States Air Force.
He retired from Lockheed Martin, where he worked at the K-25 plant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma June McCauley, on June 5, 2008. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and square dancing with the Rambling Rebels.
He is survived by brother-in-law, William J. Reynolds and wife Pamela of Oliver Springs; sister, Elsa Caldwell of Fredericksburg, Va.; sisters-in-law, Christina McCauley of Blacksburg, Va., and Bobbie Reynolds and Betty Crotty, both of Harriman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Todd Chancey officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
