AMSE Library PassThe American Museum of Science and Energy and Oak Ridge Public Library have partnered to offer free admission to library card holders.

The partnership is designed to make AMSE accessible to all Oak Ridge residents and to encourage them to have a library card, a press release said.

“Every resident of Oak Ridge needs a library card and this is another benefit of library membership,” said Kathy McNeilly, Oak Ridge Public Library director.

The AMSE Library Pass provides free admission for up to two adults and two children from 5-18 years old per visit, and it is good for one visit during the one-week loan period. Two passes are available for check-out from the main desk; ask the librarian on duty for its availability.

The Oak Ridge Public Library is located at 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike in the Civic Center. For more information, contact the Library at (865) 425-3455 or visit www.orpl.org

The American Museum of Science and Energy is located at 300 S. Tulane Ave. For more information, go to www.amse.org. To schedule a group visit, call AMSE at (865) 576-3200.

HOORAY! I have not been back to the museum since they started charging admission. I used to go every few months. This is great news.

Does that mean that the two adults and two children must all have their own library card or does that mean that the admission is covered for two adults and two children with one card?

It means that one of those people should have a library card to check out the pass. The pass covers free admission covers 2 adults & 2 children.
