Former Tennessee Rep. Jim Hackworth will officially open his campaign headquarters this evening in Clinton.

The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. The headquarters is in the Stephenson Realty Building at 210 Charles G. Seivers Blvd. in Clinton.

“Please come by to join us as we begin our efforts to return common sense representation and service to Anderson County,” Hackworth said in an e-mail. “Please come join Jim as he begins his effort to Restore the American Dream.”

Hackworth is a Clinton Democrat trying to take back his old seat in the Tennessee House of Representatives. He lost it to Rep. John Ragan, an Oak Ridge Republican, in the November 2010 election.

The e-mail from Hackworth said supporters can park in the lot behind the headquarters or in the lot farther north and to the left, behind the downtown shopping area.

TJ, check out the law, Hackworth already draws a state pension. State Representatives and State Senators are vested after four years. Electing Jim will stop his pension not give him one.

TJ Can you prove Hackworth is an Obama Democrat? Seems to me he has voted more conservative than many of the local republicans. You should stick to facts you can prove.

You got me John. Hackworth has always donated to the Tennessee Democratic party-no specific candidate that I can find-unlike Bear Stepenson who has donated tens of thousands to specific politicians.
My retirement gig was based on bad info that these pols needed several terms to get full retirement.
Hawckworth introduced the gold buyers law, that is unworkable, ineffective and expensive for small business.

      TJ,

I don’t know if you are assuming that I am posting as JH, but since you addressed your comment to John, I want to make sure you know that I am not posting as JH. I only use my full name on this site.

We are considering whether to require everyone to do so. I believe the registration form for this site says a name is required, and people are mostly sticking to that. I may put up a poll asking people which they prefer. The feedback I’ve gotten so far is that people like to have commenters use their real, full names.

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that I am not JH.

      John

I like that John Huotari because people are to afraid to post under real names because they are afraid to get retaliation by the city, police, or any government agencies. I know this first hand because of all the underhanded crap that has went on in front of my house and at the anderson county courthouse, I am refrained from going further into detail,
