A Vanderbilt University professor who is well-known for “blowing the whistle” on the school’s efforts to force Christian organizations off-campus will be the guest speaker at a Friday lecture hosted by state Rep. John Ragan, a campaign press release said.

The lecture by Carol Swain is at 7 p.m. at the Pollard Center Auditorium.

The release said Vanderbilt University had told the Christian organization they might have to accept non-Christians as organization leaders in order to remain on campus.

Swain frequently appears on national news shows, the release said.

Her Friday lecture, “Be the People,” will closely follow themes in her recently published book of the same name, the release said.

Advance tickets are available by contacting ragan4tn@att.net.

Ragan is an Oak Ridge Republican running for re-election in November.

Looking forward to hearing Professor Swain. This is a nationwide problem that needs to be addressed.
