James Donald “Donnie” Finks

James Donald “Donnie” Finks, age 53, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, June 8.

Mr. Finks was born June 2, 1959, in Oliver Springs. He was a lifelong resident of this area.

Donnie was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, reading, collecting antiques, and watching old movies.

He was employed at the X-10 plant in Oak Ridge as a pipe fitter for the past 25 years.

Donnie was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Finks.

He is survived by his parents, James and Anna Gann Finks of Harriman; by his wife, Teresa Foster Finks of Oliver Springs; by a daughter, Crystal Finks Sowder of Oliver Springs; and a stepdaughter, Miranda Turpin of Oliver Springs; by grandchildren, Matthew Jackson Stiltner, Ethan Cole Sowder, and James Riley Sowder; and by four sisters, Treva Thomas and husband, Steve of Oliver Springs, Deborah Braden of Harriman, Brenda Eberhardt and husband, Steve of Kingston and Heather Young and husband, Joseph of Oliver Springs.

He is also survived by a niece, Stephanie Thomas Brown and husband, Eddie; by nephews, Justin Donald “JD” Braden and Gavan Young; by a great-nephew, Mason Brown; and a great-niece, Mattison Brown.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 11, between 5 and 8 p.m., at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
