We changed the layout of our website early this morning.
The new wider layout provides more information closer to the top of the screen, meaning you shouldn’t have to scroll down as far to read the most recent stories, especially on the home page.
It also keeps our site mobile-friendly, and it gives us a wider sidebar, making it easier to add advertisements.
Like our previous layout, the new one uses a theme that is responsive, meaning it automatically adjusts to fit your browser window or device size. It should work, for example, on your tablet computer or smart phone.
Depending upon the size of your computer monitor or screen size, you will now see one to three columns when you visit our home page. Besides the wider layout, you are likely to notice other changes as well, including different fonts, a header that takes up much less space at the top of the page, and a new black-and-orange color scheme.
We still have to make some changes. Among other things, we’d like to expand the featured images in the front-page stories that are not at the top of the page.
We hope you stick with us as we strive to improve Oak Ridge Today, and we certainly encourage you to let us know what you think. Use the site’s contact form, available in the navigation bar above, to send us an e-mail to tell us if you like the changes so far and to let us know what other improvements you’d like to see.

I like this so much better. The color scheme seems pleasant. The layout is easier to read. Excellent use of space, Sir/Madam.
